Another Sydney Weekender!
Melbourne was freezing on the weekend, complemented by hail and rain. Sydney was also freezing, complemented by another dust storm. Choose your poison I suppose.
We were up in Sydney on the weekend for two reasons - to celebrate a dear friend's 40th, and to meet the newest member of our circle of friends - tiny little Lucas.
Blissfully adorable asleep on my belly.
And checking out the world over Pete's shoulder. CUUUUUTTTTEEEEE!
Less adorable when he managed to poo out the leg holes of his nappy and all over himself and his mat somehow. And then during that change, Belinda forgot what I have since learnt is the number one rule of baby boys - point their willy downwards in the nappy lest he pee up and all over himself and mum's party dress. Which he did the second he was dressed. Who knew?
On a selfish note, I'm glad he wasn't getting cuddles from me at that point - I made a new dress especially for the birthday party. It was extra special as it was the first (and at this stage only) dress I made completely by myself on my very own sewing machine. I tried especially hard not to cut corners and I think it turned out pretty well! It's from another $2 oppie sheet, and I cut up an old silk scarf I no longer wear to spruce things up a bit.
Pete teases me because it is the third time I have made a variation of this pattern (you may remember it from previous blog posts such as this one and this one) but it's easy, cute, flattering and I like it! So maybe I'm turning into a weirdo with a cupboard full of wrap dresses made out of sheets, but hey, he's the sucker that proposed to said weirdo!

I like her style...
Shiloh is R-O-C-K-I-N that bucket hat! You go girl!
Zahara is looking pretty snazzy herself. Actually, come to think of it, I wish I had her outfit now!

I made this!
Took this little number I whipped up a little while ago out last night for it's first outing.
I think that next time I will lose the pockets. Cute, but I don't really need any help in the bulking out the hips department, get my drift?
We went to Hellenic Republic for a late dinner - Hello! Yum! Amazing! Loved every minute of it. We were a group of 6 and it was just the right number to munch on a mountain of food to share. Perfect.

Creating a Monster...
Step 1.
Step 2.
Step 3.
Step 4.
Step.5
Step 6.
Use the rest of the condensed milk to make Vietnamese style cafe au lait. Tastes like Kopiko.
(I actually recommend you avoid this step as after drinking said coffee I proceeded to screech 'Super Mario Galax-eeeeeeeeeee' over and over again before passing out on the couch.)

Fierce Flowers!
Yesterday...
...Today! (Have you ever seen such incredible colours?)
Whilst out on the balcony admiring the stripy tulip this morning, I couldn't help but notice the box of dead strawberry plants in the corner (I let them die off after summer with plans for ditching them once it got warm enough to spend a half decent amount of time outside gardening) had miraculously come back to life bigger and better than ever! I have about 10 strawberry flowers, I can't believe it! These plants have received no love, fertiliser or watering (clearly Winter rain is enough!) for about 4 or 5 months. And look! Flowers and little green strawberries! Too CUTE!
